The VLTOR CMRD is a full length AK Handguard. Constructed from aircraft grade 6061 T4 sheet aluminum and finished with a hard coat anodize black MIL-A-8625 Type III Class 2, the CMRD is resilient but light. One of the lightest on the market in extended length, the CMRD handguard with all mounting hardware comes in at 396.9 grams.
The CMRD handguard is compatible with AK’s that have AKM style furniture, but the sling loop on the lower handguard retainer will need to be removed prior to installation. The CMRD handguard fits most stamped and milled AK variants with a barrel diameter of between 17 - 17.3 mm.
